This I Believe

The personal essays in this collection are drawn from National Public Radio`s This I Believe segment, in which people look into themselves and speak from the heart about their core beliefs. Celebrities such as William F. Buckley Jr., Colin Powell, and Gloria Steinem, as well everyday people from various walks of life, reflect the wide range of expression in these United States. Inspiring, spiritual, but not necessarily dogmatic or religious, the model for the NPR program is the popular early-1950s radio show hosted by the legendary broadcaster Edward R. Murrow.
